What is an Aggregator Transformation ?
How this differs from Expression Transformation?

List out the various typres of aggregations that can be done through the Aggregator transformation?

Definition - A transformation which allows to perform aggregate calculations such as averages and Sums.

Difference between Aggregator and Expression -

The Aggregator transformation is used to perform calculations on groups unlike in Expression Transformation it is not possible.

Various types of aggregations are as follows -
  • SUM
  • AVG
  • COUNT
  • MAX
  • MIN
  • FIRST
  • LAST
  • MEDIAN
  • PERCENTILE
  • STDDEV
  • VARIANCE

Aggregator Transformation we can apply on group wise calculations where as the
SUM
AVG
COUNT
MAX
MIN
FIRST
LAST
MEDIAN
PERCENTILE
STDDEV
VARIANCE

where as expression we can do the expression on the single row wise calculations.

aggregator is an active transformation where as expression is the passive transformation.
