Auto restart PC after power outage

I want my computer to be switched on always. But there is a frequent power cut in my city.
When power comes back, the computer doesn't boots up automatically...
Please tell me is there any way to switch on the computer when power comes back.

If your computer has a newish motherboard (newer than around 2000), it most likely has such an option in BIOS.

Look for a setting called something like "Action after A/C power failure" (usually under ACPI / Power settings)-
It should have at least 3 options -
1. "Power On"
2. "Stay Off"
3. "Last State"

Options 1 or 3 are what you're looking for.

p.s. - If you can tell us which BIOS your computer has - Award / Phoenix etc. we'll be able to tell you exactly where to look for this setting - or you can always search around by yourself Wink
